FAB! First Silicon cover: a pixel semiconductor fab on a wafer

A fab on your desk.
A company in your hands.

You have eight weeks to run a semiconductor company. Make chips, watch the memory market, investigate falling yields, and decide which improvements are worth the cash.

Windows x64   /   Single player   /   Korean & English
$3 minimum   /   Early Access

Inspect the wafer. Read the records. Decide what to change.

01   Read the factory.

The production line runs automatically. Your job is to understand what it tells you. Explore eight process areas, compare measurements, choose a hypothesis, and decide between a temporary response and a pilot for lasting improvement.

FAB process overview with eight pixel-art process cards

Eight process areas, from wafers to packaging. Open the relevant records when a problem appears.

Inspection can reveal a defect; it cannot repair it. A symptom is a clue, not proof of a cause. Your response changes costs, production capacity, and future good output.

An oxidation diagnosis in the Korean interface, with measured evidence and three response comparisons

Compare the evidence and the timing of each response. The game is fully available in English and Korean.

02   Choose your business.

Run a memory company with DRAM, NAND, and HBM. Decide when to sell, how much inventory to hold, and whether to expand. From week three, foundry orders are an optional second business: match customer requirements, produce qualified chips, and deliver in parts.

The DRAM spot market with price history, inventory, and partial-sale controls

A higher market price is an opportunity. Cash arrives when you actually sell or ship.

03   Learn from the accounts.

Research, upkeep, raw wafers, sales, borrowing, and investment all leave different traces. Review why operating profit and cash changed, then carry that knowledge into the next week.

A weekly report separating operating profit, sales receipts, sold-stock cost, operating expenses, and inventory

Weekly reports connect your decisions to good output, unit cost, inventory, and company finances.

Inside the current build

  • A complete eight-week campaign, changing markets, company mail, research, investments, financing, and valuation.
  • Memory operations, optional foundry contracts, and eight process areas with diagnosis and response choices.
  • 28 ending outcomes and 38 achievements, plus records reflecting how you operated the company.
  • Optional practice routes and a 22-page illustrated starter guide PDF in each language.
  • A pixel-art workplace, an original background theme, local autosaves, and full progress backup/import.

Is FAB! for you?

This is a reading-and-decision management game centered on semiconductor manufacturing. If semiconductors do not interest you, you may find the game less engaging. Specialist knowledge is not required: the starter guide and practice routes introduce the ideas.

The simulation simplifies real manufacturing. Event probabilities, timings, capacities, and prices are game and teaching parameters, not factory statistics.

Early Access, with a playable campaign

The full eight-week campaign is available now. Balance, UI details, wording, and event outcomes are still being refined. Please buy for the current game, not for promised future features.

The development focus is clearer process feedback, more distinct operating strategies, smoother tutorials, and continued fixes based on playtesting. There is no fixed update schedule.

Install, save & update

Choose the Windows installer, or extract the entire Windows ZIP and run FAB.exe. No separate browser, account, or internet connection is needed to play. This release is for Windows x64; macOS, Linux, and mobile apps are not included. The Windows build is currently unsigned.

Progress is stored in your Windows user profile and remains when the app is updated. Export a full progress backup from SYSTEM or the title/ending screen to keep a separate copy or transfer computers. It includes the campaign, ending/achievement collection, language, reading size, and audio settings. Existing exported FAB browser saves can be imported.

The guide's PDF button opens a save dialog. Both manuals are included. This offline edition does not transmit analytics or xAPI learning records. Reference links open your default browser only when chosen.

I’m developing FAB! and DRILL! in parallel. DRILL! is a free beta; if you are curious about my decision-focused gameplay style, you can try it from my profile. FAB! incorporates player reactions and feedback and is being offered as a paid Early Access game.

Code, artwork, audio, and writing were developed with AI assistance and revised during iteration. Feedback is welcome in the comments. For a bug report, include the release, game week, action taken, and a screenshot. Remove personal information before sharing a save file.
